Quick answer: For most people, the Infinix Note Edge (₹28,999, 8GB/128GB) is the best all-rounder under ₹30,000 right now, with a curved 1.5K AMOLED screen, a 6,500mAh battery and 3 OS upgrades. The Infinix Hot 70 Pro (₹27,999, 8GB/128GB) is the pick for durability: IP68 and a sharp 144Hz screen. The Motorola edge 70 (₹29,999, 8GB/256GB) has the best cameras and the fastest chip of the five in a 5.99mm, 159g body. The Moto g67 Power (₹27,999, 12GB/256GB) is the battery pick, and the Samsung Galaxy A17 5G (₹27,999, 6GB/128GB) has the longest software support: 6 OS upgrades and 6 years of security updates. All five sit between ₹27,999 and ₹29,999 on their brand's official Indian store on 3 Nov 2026.

"30 hazaar tak ka sabse accha 5G phone kaunsa hai?" It's one of the questions we hear most at the counter. There isn't one answer: the right phone depends on whether you care most about screen, durability, camera, battery or how long the phone keeps getting updates. So we've picked one phone per use case, all priced close to the ₹30,000 mark, from brands we sell, and we're upfront about where each one falls short.

One thing to know before you start: phone prices have gone up this year. Phones that launched well under ₹20,000 now list close to ₹30,000. The Galaxy A17 5G launched at ₹18,999 in 2025 and Samsung's store now lists it at ₹27,999. The Vivo T5x 5G launched at ₹18,999 (6GB/128GB) in March 2026, and Vivo's store lists the same 6GB/128GB version at ₹27,999 today. The Moto edge 70 Fusion, a popular pick at this budget, now starts at ₹30,999. All prices below were checked on 3 Nov 2026 and can change quickly.

Best all-rounder and best display: Infinix Note Edge

Price: ₹28,999 (8GB/128GB) on Infinix India's store, 3 Nov 2026. The 8GB/256GB version is ₹30,999, just over budget.

Key specs: MediaTek Dimensity 7100, 6.78-inch 1.5K curved AMOLED at 120Hz (up to 4,500 nits peak, Gorilla Glass 7i), 6,500mAh battery with 45W charging and 10W reverse charging, 50MP main and 13MP selfie cameras, dual JBL speakers, IP65, 7.2mm thick and 185–190g depending on colour.

Updates: 3 Android OS upgrades and 5 years of security updates, per Gadgets 360's launch report.

The Note Edge is the most complete package here. You get a screen that looks like it belongs on a much pricier phone, a big battery in a slim 7.2mm body, and a long update promise. Reviewers at HT Tech and 91mobiles praised the display and battery life. The weak spot is performance: HT Tech found it occasionally slowed down when switching between apps, with brief stutters, and 91mobiles noted micro lags with many apps open. It's best suited to everyday apps and casual-to-regular gaming (see the gaming section below).

  • Pros: Bright curved 1.5K AMOLED, slim and light for a 6,500mAh phone, 3 OS upgrades, JBL speakers
  • Cons: Occasional stutters when multitasking, single rear camera (no ultrawide), IP65 rather than IP68
  • Who it's for: Anyone who wants the best screen and battery balance under ₹30,000 and games casually to regularly

Best for durability and a sharp, fast screen: Infinix Hot 70 Pro

Infinix Hot 70 Pro with its Active Matrix Cube rear screen. Image: Infinix India.

Price: ₹27,999 (8GB/128GB) on Infinix India's store, 3 Nov 2026.

Key specs: MediaTek Dimensity 7100, 6.76-inch FHD+ LCD at up to 144Hz, 6,000mAh battery with 45W charging and 10W reverse charging, 50MP Sony IMX882 main camera (no OIS), 8MP selfie camera, Active Matrix Cube mini rear display, IP68, XOS 16 on Android 16, 7.85mm and 204g.

Updates: 3 Android OS upgrades and 5 years of security updates, per Beebom's launch report and 91mobiles. Infinix's product page doesn't state the policy.

The Hot 70 Pro shares the Note Edge's chip and long update promise, and adds the toughest build in this list. 91mobiles called its IP68 rating best-in-class durability for the segment, liked the sharp FHD+ screen, and measured the highest AnTuTu score in its comparison (756,960). The Active Matrix Cube on the back makes it look unlike anything else at the price. Be realistic about the trade-offs: Smartprix said to skip it if you want OIS, an ultrawide camera or 4K video, and found outdoor visibility could be better. 91mobiles noted the screen mostly runs at 90Hz in regular use, the 6,000mAh battery is smaller than many rivals', and gaming drains it relatively quickly.

  • Pros: IP68, sharp 144Hz FHD+ screen, reliable everyday performance, 3 OS upgrades, unique rear display, reverse charging
  • Cons: LCD rather than AMOLED, no OIS or ultrawide camera, video tops out at 2K, smaller battery than the Note Edge and g67 Power, only 128GB on Infinix's store
  • Who it's for: Buyers who want a phone that handles rain and dust, looks different, and stays updated for years

Best cameras and slimmest design: Motorola edge 70

Motorola edge 70 in Gadget Grey, back and front

Motorola edge 70. Image: Motorola India.

Price: ₹29,999 (8GB/256GB, the only version) on Motorola India's store, 3 Nov 2026. That's the same as its launch price. It was showing as out of stock on Motorola's own store that day, so check availability before you set your heart on a colour.

Key specs: Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, 6.7-inch 1.5K (2712 x 1220) AMOLED at up to 120Hz with up to 4,500 nits peak brightness and Gorilla Glass 7i, 5,000mAh silicon-carbon battery with 68W wired and 15W wireless charging, 50MP main camera with OIS, 50MP ultrawide, 50MP selfie camera, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, IP68 and IP69 plus MIL-STD-810H, aluminium frame, Android 16, 5.99mm thick and 159g.

Updates: 3 Android OS upgrades and 4 years of security patches, per Digit's review. Motorola's store page doesn't list the policy.

The edge 70 is the most "premium-feeling" phone here, and the one to pick if photos matter most. Digit found the main camera natural and detailed with well-handled dynamic range, the 50MP ultrawide sharp in daylight, and the display bright enough to read easily in harsh sunlight (about 2,580 nits measured). It's also the fastest of the five: Digit measured about 1.4 million on AnTuTu and ran BGMI at up to 120fps. The trade-off is the battery. At 5,000mAh it's the smallest here alongside the A17, and Digit says buyers who want two days per charge should look at bigger-battery phones. Video stabilisation is weak when you're walking, and the stereo speakers are loud but average-sounding, per Digit.

  • Pros: Best cameras here (OIS main plus 50MP ultrawide and 50MP selfie), very bright 1.5K AMOLED, fastest chip of the five, IP68/IP69 in a 5.99mm, 159g body, 68W charging plus wireless charging, clean near-stock software
  • Cons: 5,000mAh battery is about a day rather than two, shaky walking video, one variant only, shorter update promise than Samsung's, was out of stock on Motorola's store on 3 Nov
  • Who it's for: Anyone who wants a light, slim phone with good cameras and a top screen, and charges every night

Best battery life: Moto g67 Power

Price: ₹27,999 (12GB/256GB) on Motorola India's store, 3 Nov 2026. The 8GB/128GB version is ₹22,999. Both were showing as out of stock on Motorola's own store that day.

Key specs: Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 (4nm), 6.7-inch FHD+ LCD at 120Hz with Gorilla Glass 7i, 7,000mAh battery with 30W charging, 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 main camera plus 8MP ultrawide, 32MP selfie camera, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, 3.5mm headphone jack, IP64, vegan leather back, 8.6mm and 210g.

Updates: 1 OS upgrade and 3 years of security patches, per Motorola India's store page. It launched on Android 15.

This is the "charge it every other day" phone. 91mobiles got up to two days per charge with casual-to-moderate use, and at least 8 hours of screen time on heavy days with gaming and 5G. Times Now saw 8–9 hours of screen time with moderate-to-heavy use. Software is clean and close to stock Android, and the vegan leather back gives good grip. Be clear about what you give up: the screen is LCD, not AMOLED; charging is slow for the battery size (91mobiles measured 78 minutes from 20 to 100%); it's heavy; and one OS upgrade is the shortest promise here. If you don't need 12GB of RAM, the 8GB/128GB version at ₹22,999 has the same battery.

  • Pros: Biggest battery and longest battery life here, 12GB RAM and 256GB storage at this price, stereo speakers and headphone jack, near-stock software
  • Cons: LCD rather than AMOLED, slow 30W charging for 7,000mAh, heavy at 210g, only 1 OS upgrade, average gaming frame rates, was out of stock on Motorola's store on 3 Nov
  • Who it's for: Heavy WhatsApp, YouTube and calling users, travellers, and anyone who forgets to charge

Best for long-term updates: Samsung Galaxy A17 5G

Galaxy A17 5G colour options. Image: Samsung India.

Price: ₹27,999 (6GB/128GB) and ₹30,999 (8GB/128GB) on Samsung India's store, 3 Nov 2026. The 8GB/256GB version is ₹36,499. Marketplace listings can differ.

Key specs: Exynos 1330, 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED at 90Hz, 50MP main camera with OIS plus 5MP ultrawide and 2MP macro, 13MP selfie camera, 5,000mAh battery with 25W charging, IP54, microSD up to 2TB, 7.5mm thick and 192g.

Updates: 6 Android OS upgrades and 6 years of security updates, per Samsung India. That is the longest promise in this list.

This is the "buy it and keep it for years" pick. The A17 5G isn't fast, and it isn't meant to be. The main camera is its strength: the Times of India found it delivers usable low-light results with noise under control, and 91mobiles called its low-light photography impressive. The 5MP ultrawide is much weaker. 91mobiles also found the 2023-era Exynos 1330 fine for everyday use but behind rivals for demanding users, with average battery life and slower charging.

  • Pros: 6 years of OS and security updates, AMOLED screen, OIS on the main camera, Samsung's service network
  • Cons: Slowest chip here, 25W charging and average battery life, 90Hz rather than 120Hz, weak ultrawide and macro cameras
  • Who it's for: Parents, students and anyone who wants a phone that stays secure and updated for years, with a dependable main camera

What about gaming?

None of these five is a dedicated gaming phone, but some handle BGMI and Call of Duty much better than others. Here's how they did in reviews:

  • Motorola edge 70 (Snapdragon 7 Gen 4): the strongest gamer here. Digit ran BGMI at up to 120fps and Call of Duty: Mobile at up to 90fps with minimal frame drops, and found the phone stayed reasonably cool in long sessions. Its 5,000mAh battery will drain faster than the bigger-battery phones if you game a lot.
  • Infinix Note Edge (Dimensity 7100): 91mobiles averaged 59.8fps in Call of Duty: Mobile at Very High + Max settings and 38.5fps in BGMI at HDR + Ultra over 30-minute sessions, with the phone warming by only about 2°C.
  • Infinix Hot 70 Pro (Dimensity 7100): same chip as the Note Edge and the highest AnTuTu score in 91mobiles' comparison, but 91mobiles found gaming drains its 6,000mAh battery relatively quickly.
  • Moto g67 Power (Snapdragon 7s Gen 2): fine for casual play. Times Now ran BGMI at Smooth + Extreme (60fps) and averaged around 55fps with occasional drops; 91mobiles averaged 29.8fps at HD + High. The big battery means long sessions.
  • Galaxy A17 5G: fine for light games, but not the one to buy for BGMI. 91mobiles rated its chip behind rivals for demanding users.

Best for clean software

Both Motorola phones run Motorola's near-stock Android with few extras. Digit called the edge 70's software clean, minimal and very close to stock Android. Between the two, the edge 70 has the longer promise (3 OS upgrades and 4 years of security, per Digit) against the g67 Power's 1 OS upgrade and 3 years. If long support matters more than a clean interface, the Galaxy A17 5G is still the better choice: One UI adds more features, but its 6-year promise is the longest here.

Other phones in this price range

The Vivo T5x 5G and Vivo Y31 5G are also priced at ₹27,999 on Vivo's store (3 Nov 2026), but on overall specs they don't match the five picks above, so we've left them out of the list.

Just over ₹30,000: worth stretching for?

On 3 Nov 2026, these were just above ₹30,000 on official stores:

  • Infinix Note Edge 8GB/256GB: ₹30,999 on Infinix India's store, if you want double the storage of our pick.
  • Galaxy A17 5G 8GB/128GB: ₹30,999 on Samsung India's store.
  • Moto edge 70 Fusion: ₹30,999 (8GB/128GB) on Motorola India's store. Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, 6.8-inch 144Hz AMOLED, 7,000mAh battery with 68W charging. Worth a look if your budget can stretch by ₹1,000 and you want a bigger battery than the edge 70.
  • Samsung Galaxy A27 5G: ₹35,999 (6GB/128GB) on Samsung India's store, up from its ₹28,999 launch price. Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, 120Hz AMOLED, IP64, 6 OS upgrades.
  • Oppo K14 Plus: ₹32,999 (6GB/128GB) after Oppo raised prices weeks after launch, per Gadgets 360.
  • Vivo T5 Pro: ₹41,999 (8GB/128GB) on Vivo India's store, well above its ₹29,999 launch price.

What about Google? There's no Pixel under ₹30,000 right now. The most affordable current Pixel, the Pixel 10a, is ₹52,999 on Google Store India (checked 3 Nov 2026).
